Enjoy Great Health with Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less distress and better health.

We’ll practice yoga and breathing to prepare. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend. This workshop is appropriate for teens, adults, and those with health challenges. Yoga nidra is wonderful for pregnancy. The cost is $25. Registration deadline is Friday 4/20/18. The workshop is limited to 15 students. Please register early to reserve your spot. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket. You may also bring a pillow and eye bag. Please invite your friends.

This class strings yoga postures together in a flowing sequence of breath and movement. Sequences are conducted at a moderate pace to raise the heartbeat and create warmth in the body. Seated and/or moving meditation and relaxation are a part of each class. Suitable for students with an awareness of yoga postures and comfort with sustained movement. Yoga nidra offers a space to explore what you need in the moment, as well as an opportunity to work on releasing long-held emotions. We’ll practice yoga postures and deep breathing to prepare ourselves for yoga nidra. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend. These classes are appropriate for teens and adults. The cost is $25. Registration deadline is Friday 2/2/18. The workshop is limited to the first 15 registrants. Register early to reserve your spot. Clinical research highlights the effectiveness of Yoga Nidra in improving sleep, balancing the nervous system, healing psychological trauma, and managing chronic pain. Yoga Nidra is now used at Walter Reed hospital and other medical centers to treat PTSD, insomnia, anxiety, and chronic pain conditions. We’ll practice yoga postures and deep breathing to prepare ourselves for yoga nidra. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend. These classes are appropriate for teens and adults. The cost is $25 for one session or $40 for 2. Registration deadline is Thursday 11/16 for the November session or if purchasing the package of 2. This yoga series is dedicated to the teachings of T.K.V. Desikachar, who recently passed away. We will practice asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation in order to cultivate health, steadiness, comfort and peace of mind. Beginner’s are welcome.
